PFSA notification of the amount of an additional own funds requirement for Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. by way of the buffer requirement for other systemically important institutions
The Management Board of Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. ("Bank") informs that in the administrative procedure conducted by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority ("PFSA") received on 28th November 2017 a decision in which PFSA asked the Financial Stability Committee to express its opinion on: (1) repeal in full point 2 of decision of PFSA of 4 October 2016, in which PFSA identified Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. as the other systemically important institution and imposed on Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. both on an individual and consolidated basis, the other systemically important institution buffer, in the amount equivalent to 0.50% of the total risk exposure amount, calculated in accordance with art. 92 paragraph 3 of CRR., and (2) the imposition on Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. the other systemically important institution buffer, determined pursuant to art. 38 of the Act - in the amount equivalent to 0.50% of the total risk exposure amount, calculated in accordance with art. 92 paragraph 3 of the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) No. 575/2013 of 26 June 2013 on prudential requirements for credit institutions and investment firms, amending Regulation (EU) No. 648/2012 (OJ L 176 of 27 June 2013, with additional amendments) ("CRR").
The final decision will be made after the position is taken by the authority from which the opinion is dependent. The Bank will notify in a separate report about the completion of the final stage of the procedure of determining the buffer ratio for such other systematically important institution once the Bank obtains the decision.
